Katy Perry’s ‘Woman’s World’ Hits Top 10 Immediately

Katy Perry has been promoting her new single “Woman’s World” for weeks. The singer has been teasing the dance-pop tune, hinting that it’s the first taste of a new era for her. Following the announcement that she does, in fact, have a new album on the way, the track finally arrived…and it didn’t take long to become a bestseller.

“Woman’s World” is currently the highest-ranking debut on the U.S. iTunes chart. As of the time of writing, the single sits at No. 6 on the ranking of the bestselling songs in the U.S. on the platform.

The pop superstar’s latest single will likely continue to rise in the coming hours, and perhaps even days. As millions of Americans wake up and begin their Friday, they may learn of the song’s existence, or perhaps finally get around to pressing “buy” on iTunes.

“Woman’s World” was released late in the day on Thursday (July 11). The single arrived at 7 PM EST, which allowed Perry’s new cut to enjoy at least a few hours of streaming and sales activity, as well as conversation in blogs and on social media before the day–and the tracking week–ended.

Perry claims the only new tune inside the top 10. The second-highest-ranking just-released cut sits down at No. 22. Alesso and Nate Smith’s “I Like It” lands in that position, and it may just be getting started.

New tracks from singers like Kylie Minogue, Bebe Rexha, Troye Sivan, and Ice Spice, among others, are also new to the U.S. iTunes chart. Several songs from Eminem’s just-released album *The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)* also arrive, and they may continue to soar throughout the day.

“Woman’s World” serves as the first single from Perry’s just-announced album *143*. The full-length is expected on September 20. “Woman’s World” marks Perry’s first new single in several years, and based on the heavy hitters she recruited for the track, as well as the budget behind the music video, it’s clear that the pop singer is looking to regain her title as one of the biggest stars in the world.
