Keanu Reeves Surprises Small-Town Pub, Enjoys Pint, Takes Photos with Staff

Keanu Reeves, widely recognized as one of Hollywood’s most amiable celebrities, recently brightened the day of an 80-year-old fan with a crush on him by calling her. Known for his acts of kindness, Reeves has previously bought an ice cream just to sign the receipt for a fan and spontaneously joined a wedding to take photos with the happy couple.

Reeves is not just generous with his time but also contributes significantly to charitable causes, notably donating a substantial portion of his earnings from “The Matrix” to a cancer charity.

The “John Wick” star continued his tradition of goodwill over a recent weekend. On Saturday, February 4, he and a friend stopped by The Robin Hood pub in Tring, Hertfordshire, a quaint market town about 30 miles outside of London.

The pub staff and locals, part of the town’s 12,000 residents, were taken aback by the celebrity visit. Known for his unassuming and friendly nature, Reeves’ entrance was a big surprise. To commemorate the occasion, the pub’s staff posted a photo on The Robin Hood’s Facebook page featuring chef Scott Valentine, 18, alongside Reeves.

“So today we had a surprise visitor for lunch,” they wrote. “What a lovely man he was too. Laura asked if he would be okay with taking photos with the kitchen lads. He marched into the kitchen, shook their hands, and praised them for the food they had prepared. Suffice to say he made their days!!!”

At the pub, Reeves indulged in traditional English cuisine. “He came to the bar and ordered a beer (Seafarers Ale) and just walked over to the corner. He ordered fish and chips and Nat’s shepherd’s pie,” said Laura Rolfe to The Mirror.

Despite the initial nerves, chef Scott Valentine was thrilled with Reeves’ response. Valentine shared his experience with the BBC, saying, “It was a bit worrying because I had to cook for him, but we took it out to him and he said thank you and was really nice. He came into the kitchen, shook our hands, and said the food was lovely.”

The staff at The Robin Hood are still curious as to why Reeves chose to visit Tring. However, The Mirror speculated he might be working on a Disney Plus docuseries related to Formula 1.

Last year, it was revealed that Reeves is producing a documentary focusing on Jenson Button’s surprising win for Brawn GP in 2009. “Our story is about Honda withdrawing from F1 and Ross Brawn who had joined Honda a year and a half earlier,” Reeves explained to TalkSport. “How did they race a world championship? It’s certainly a people story. It’s about passion,” he added.

Whatever brought Reeves to the small town pub, it’s heartening to know that his visit left everyone he interacted with in high spirits. Reeves’ ability to be a genuine, kind person, even at a local pub, shows his commitment to making others happy. His consistent kindness seems to never disappoint fans and reinforces his reputation as one of the most genuine celebrities around.
