Keir Starmer Received Free £4,000 Taylor Swift Tickets for Wembley Show

Sir Keir Starmer was privileged with free Taylor Swift concert tickets valued at £4,000 while on his campaign trail earlier this year.

The current prime minister took a brief “swift” break from his campaign in June to attend the singer’s first stop at Wembley Stadium on her record-breaking Eras Tour.

During the event, Sir Keir shared a heartwarming photo of himself and his wife Victoria in front of the 90,000-strong crowd, enjoying the show from a hospitality booth.

It’s now revealed that the Labour leader experienced this event gratis, thanks to four hospitality tickets worth £1,000 each, provided by the Premier League.

The June show wasn’t the only concert Starmer attended on a complimentary basis. In December, he received two tickets worth £800 to Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball at the O2.

Most of his free outings, unsurprisingly, were to support his favorite football team, Arsenal. Over the last year, the prime minister was gifted free tickets to 12 football games with hospitality, totaling £19,340. The priciest of these were two hospitality tickets, each valued at £1,200, for the Chelsea vs Arsenal match in October of last year.

Additionally, Starmer almost received clothing nearly equivalent in value to the football tickets from the former chairman of ASOS. Labour peer Lord Alli gifted him £16,200 worth of “work clothing,” along with £2,485 worth of “multiple pairs of glasses.”

Lord Alli also provided Starmer with accommodation worth £20,437.28 from May 29 to July 13 this year, although the specifics of this accommodation remain unclear.

While Starmer attended Taylor Swift’s first Wembley performance, he might be disappointed that he missed her playing his favorite song, ‘Change,’ when she returned in August.

In June, when reporters asked for his opinion on the American pop star’s performance, Sir Keir commented, “She was fantastic. Absolutely fantastic.”

He added, “What I learned last night is my daughter knows every album, every song, and every word of every song, and she wasn’t alone among the teenage girls who were there. It was utterly brilliant.”

He then noted, “I know I will be asked what my favorite song is, and I am not going to pretend I have every album and know every song, although Change is the one for obvious reasons.”

The Labour manifesto, named “Change,” shares its title with a song from Swift’s 2008 album Fearless.

During Monday night’s show, the singer selected the track as one of her two ‘surprise songs,’ which are a staple part of her set.

This choice did not go unnoticed by fans on social media, who humorously speculated that the prime minister might have returned to watch the show for a second time.

One Twitter user who attended the concert wrote, “Funniest part about the Eras show on the 19th is that I was sitting next to a man who kinda knew the songs on the setlist. You could tell he recognized them but didn’t know the lyrics that well but somehow he knew EVERY SINGLE LYRIC to CHANGE????”

Other users quickly replied to the post, suggesting, “You sat next to the UK prime minister and had no idea.”
