Keith Urban made a surprising announcement on Facebook this past Friday, revealing a pop-up show in the parking lot of a Buc-ee’s in Athens, Alabama.
Keith, who is gearing up to release his next album, “HIGH,” in September, has already given fans a taste of the new record with songs like “GO HOME W U” featuring Lainey Wilson, and his latest single “HEART LIKE A HOMETOWN,” which dropped earlier this month. Despite the short notice, the pop-up show managed to draw an estimated crowd of 5,500 people.

For those unfamiliar with Buc-ee’s, it might seem odd to choose a gas station as a concert venue. However, Buc-ee’s is not just any gas station. Known for its massive stores, the chain offers everything from walls of candy and beef jerky to fresh barbeque and fudge, along with an array of beaver-branded merchandise. They are also renowned for having the cleanest public bathrooms you’ll ever come across.
When announcing the show, it was speculated that Keith Urban might have chosen Buc-ee’s for its brisket. That speculation turned out to be true. Before taking the stage, Keith delighted customers by stepping behind the counter to serve BBQ, even making the store’s signature announcement of fresh hot BBQ.

Keith’s decision to hold the surprise concert at Buc-ee’s seemed to be a hit with both his fans and the store’s customers.
