Keke Palmer‘s mother is recalling the atmosphere on the sets of Dan Schneider‘s Nickelodeon shows, describing them as peculiar.
During the latest episode of Keke Palmer’s podcast, “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer,” Keke’s mom, Sharon Palmer, shared her experiences with Schneider.
Sharon remarked, “My honest opinion is I thought the whole atmosphere of the Dan Schneider set was very weird, very cultish. The parents were very secretive, and I honestly thought they all took themselves way too seriously.”
Keke Palmer starred in her own Nickelodeon show, “True Jackson, VP” from 2008 to 2011. While Schneider was not involved in Keke’s show, he was producing “Zoey 101,” “iCarly,” and “Victorious” during the same period.
Sharon’s account aligns with more severe allegations against Schneider in the documentary ‘Quiet on Set.’ The documentary accuses Schneider and other adults of misconduct, including sexual harassment and writing inappropriate jokes for minors.
Dan Schneider has denied these claims. He admitted that some of the material he wrote was inappropriate but is also suing the ‘Quiet on Set’ producers for defamation. Schneider claims they portrayed him as a predator, which he disputes.
Sharon did not specify which of Schneider’s sets she experienced, but some allegations against him originate from his time on “Zoey 101,” which was produced around the time Keke’s show began.
Keke Palmer recalls her mom having strong opinions about Schneider and Nickelodeon from back in the day. According to Keke, her mom’s feelings were mostly negative.
