Kelly Clarkson’s New Post Joking About Her Past Appearance Creates Buzz

Kelly Clarkson has a wonderful sense of humor and delighted her fans with a humorous post on Instagram where she poked fun at herself.

The Kelly Clarkson Show star recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of The Princess Diaries 2 by sharing a throwback clip from 2004 when she made a cameo in the film.

In the clip, which is from her music video for “Breakaway” featured on the movie’s soundtrack, Kelly is seen sporting a striking look.

She humorously acknowledged her fashion choices, notably wearing sunglasses at night, writing in the caption: “Wearing sunglasses at night on a red carpet… I was that kind of cool.”

Fans loved the nostalgic post, with one commenter stating, “Honestly the look was a serve,” while another added, “A queen then and a queen now.” A third fan remarked, “Definitely a thousand times cooler than I’ve ever been! Own that!!”

In the old footage, Kelly also showcased brunette hair, a sharp contrast to the blonde locks she has been sporting in recent years.

Known for her ever-evolving style, Kelly has enjoyed experimenting with her looks. Over the past year, her wardrobe has seen a transformation thanks to her new stylist, Micaela Erlanger, who also styles stars like Meryl Streep.

Micaela is responsible for dressing Kelly for her popular talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, where her outfits are often admired by viewers.

Speaking to HELLO! about Kelly’s style evolution since her move to New York City last summer, Micaela said: “It’s a new look, it’s a new year, and it’s a really exciting place to be. I’m really grateful that she trusts me and that she trusts my eye and we’re experimenting and playing a bit more.”

The award-winning singer relocated to New York City from Los Angeles for a fresh start with her young family after her divorce from Brandon Blackstock.

Kelly and Brandon share two children, River, nine, and Remington, seven. The move to NYC was also motivated by a need to improve her mental health.

At the Daytime Emmy Awards, where The Kelly Clarkson Show won the accolade for Outstanding Talk Show, Kelly discussed this change in her acceptance speech.

She revealed that she had requested the show’s producers to allow this move because she needed a change after a challenging period.

Accepting her win, Kelly said: “Thanks to NBC for believing in our show. The fact that NBC, a huge company, took time and listened when I said ‘Hey, my life is not going super great. I don’t know if I can live here [in L.A.] anymore. I don’t know if I can do this.'”

“And they really wrapped their arms around us and they helped us move. And the move has been so great for not just me and my family but our whole show. It takes a lot of time and money and effort to do that. It is not unnoticed. I just want to say thank you for thinking of mental health as well as, you know, a product.”
