Kenneth Branagh’s The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde Completes Cast

Well-known British actor and filmmaker Kenneth Branagh has set his next film, and it’s called The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde. Described as a contemporary psychological thriller, this upcoming movie will be led by Emmy and BAFTA winner Jodie Comer. Many other familiar faces have joined the cast as well, including Academy Award-winning actress Patricia Arquette and Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Michael Sheen.

Branagh has also received a fair share of prestigious awards, including an Oscar, two Emmys, and a Golden Globe Award. You might recognize him from his roles in the movies My Week with Marilyn, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Dunkirk, and Oppenheimer. He also starred in and directed the films Death on the Nile and A Haunting in Venice. Now, he’s back to his directing roots with The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde.

We first learned of this movie back in May 2024 when it was announced that it was Branagh’s next directing project. At the time, it was also revealed that he had written the script and that Comer would be starring. In addition, it was revealed that Tamar Thomas, Laura Berwick, Becca Kovacik, Matthew Jenkins, Ashley Fox, and Johnny Pariseau would be producing and that production would be getting started in the United Kingdom in August.

Now, we’ve just learned that the cameras are officially rolling and that Arquette (Medium, The Act, Severance), Sheen (Prodigal Son, Good Omens, Best Interests), Tom Bateman (Death on the Nile, Based on a True Story), Vicky McClure (Alex Rider, Insomnia), Michael Balogun (You Don’t Know Me, Top Boy), Kristina Tonteri-Young (Warrior Nun), Karla Crome (Misfits, Carnival Row), Aiysha Hart (Atlantis, A Discovery of Witches), and Gemma Whelan (Gentleman Jack, The Tower) have been added to the cast.
