Killer Mike Releasing ‘Songs For Sinners & Saints’ This Friday

Killer Mike isn’t done with his album MICHAEL just yet. Reflecting on the award-winning album, he shared, “I had a year to live with MICHAEL and I realized I had more I wanted to do with this sound before moving on.” With that, he announced the release of a follow-up project he calls an “epilogue to MICHAEL” entitled Songs For Sinners & Saints.

The new project features 10 tracks, including recently released singles “EXIT 9” featuring Offset, Blxst, Lena Byrd Miles, and Troy Durden, as well as the introspective “HUMBLE ME.” The full tracklist also includes contributions from Key Glock, Project Pat, and several others, offering a diverse array of collaborations:

1. BUSSIN BRICKS INTRO
2. NOBODY KNOWS (feat. Anthony Hamilton, Jordan Alyssa, Troy Durden & Adonica Nunn)
3. HUMBLE ME
4. HIGHER LEVEL (feat. Jori & Adonica Nunn)
5. EXIT 9 Scenic Route (feat Offset, Blxst, Lena Byrd Miles & Troy Durden)
6. LORD PREPARE ME (feat. Bellygang Kush, Jane Handcock, Adonica Nunn)
7. SLUMMER 4 JUNKIES (feat. Lena Byrd Miles, Alicia Peters-Jordan, Jori, Adonica Nunn, Jordan Alyssa & Troy Durden)
8. HAD TO GO GET IT (feat. Troy Durden)
9. ’97 3-6 FREESTYLE
10. STILL TALK’N THAT SHIT (feat. Key Glock & Project Pat)

“For me, this is a testimonial,” Mike explained. He related the process to his experiences growing up when church services would include time for individuals to give public testimonies on their personal trials, tribulations, and triumphs. He feels that after the celebratory atmosphere surrounding MICHAEL, it’s important to remember that hardship is an ever-present aspect of life. This album serves as a testament to his tumultuous times, ongoing trials, and continual triumphs in the face of doubt, hate, and fear. Through this project, Mike aims to connect with both sinners and saints, sharing his journey and experiences.

Adding further insight, Mike mentioned, “Not only was I not done with the sound and feel of MICHAEL, but I realized I might not be done with some of the songs from it as well. These are songs that deserved another approach, and now I’m torn on which version I like better.”

Songs For Sinners & Saints is set to drop this Friday, August 18th. Fans can expect a continuation of the themes and sounds introduced in MICHAEL, with a fresh perspective and new collaborations to add depth and variety.
