Killers Unveil Rare Tracks in Residency Opener: Set List and Videos

The Killers kicked off their residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Wednesday, thrilling fans with a night of music that revived several long-forgotten tracks. As a band that began its journey in Sin City in 2001, this residency was a homecoming of sorts and also marked the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough debut album, Hot Fuss.

The evening opened with “Jenny Was a Friend of Mine,” the emphatic first track from Hot Fuss. Immediately after, the band rolled into their ubiquitous hit “Mr. Brightside,” performing their debut album in its original order.

The show had several highlights, including “Everything Will Be Alright,” a track the band played for the first time since 2005. They also performed the rarely heard “Believe Me Natalie,” which hadn’t appeared in their set list for six years.

At one point, frontman Brandon Flowers paused to reflect on the band’s Las Vegas roots and their remarkable two-decade run of fame. “As you know, a lot of people come to Vegas to gamble,” Flowers remarked. “I’m no exception. I came here from a quiet town in Utah when I was just 16 years old. I had big dreams working as a busboy right here in Caesars Palace.”

He continued, “And I bet my life on three men who I hardly knew. Some people come to Vegas and lose everything – that’s just the way it goes. But let tonight serve as a reminder: sometimes it goes the other way too.”

After performing Hot Fuss in its entirety, the Killers briefly left the stage, only to return for an encore featuring songs from throughout their career. This included the live debut of their newest track, the Vegas-inspired “Bright Lights.”
