Kim Deal Returns to The Breeders

A rock legend from the early ’90s is making a grand return with her first solo album, set to drop this November. Kim Deal, famously known for her work with The Pixies and The Breeders, is stepping out alone at 63 with the release of Nobody Loves You More.

According to 4AD, the 11 tracks on the album signify Deal’s first full-length solo project, although she previously released a five-part, ten-song vinyl series back in 2013. Nobody Loves You More delves into a decade’s worth of songcraft, some of which were first recorded in 2011. The final recording session for the album took place in November 2022, with the late, legendary producer Steve Albini overseeing the process.

As a prelude to the album, Deal has already released a single titled “Coast.” This will soon be followed by another track called “Crystal Breath,” which comes with a visually textured video directed by Alex Da Corte. The album is rich with contributions from various noted musicians, including members of The Breeders, Deal’s twin sister Kelley, Raymond McGinley from Teenage Fanclub, Jack Lawrence of The Raconteurs, and Savages’ Fay Milton and Ayse Hassan.
