Kit Harington Returns to ‘Game of Thrones’ for ‘Legends’ Ad

Kit Harington has made his return to the world of Game Of Thrones through a new ad for the mobile game Game Of Thrones: Legends.

Game Of Thrones: Legends is a mobile puzzle game from Zynga Inc. that allows players to recruit a variety of well-known Game Of Thrones and House Of The Dragon characters. This roster includes Rhaenyra Targaryen, the Hound, Ser Criston Cole, Arya Stark, and Jon Snow.

In this newest ad, Jon Snow actor Kit Harington engages in the action. “Winter is coming,” Harington declares at the start of the clip. “I’m ready to forge my own destiny. I’ve composed my strategy, refined my tactics, and I’ll solve every puzzle and overcome every challenge to defeat the deadliest threat we’ve ever faced; the long night,” he continues before diving into the game.

After experiencing a significant defeat in the game, his opponent uses the famous Game Of Thrones catchphrase, “You know nothing Jon Snow,” to taunt him. Not taking the defeat lightly, Harington’s character retaliates with a blast of dragon fire. Fans can view the ad on various platforms, adding to the excitement surrounding the game.

“The creativity and care taken to create Game Of Thrones: Legends is obvious, and it feels completely natural to jump back into Westeros for this game,” Harington said in a statement. “This is a true love letter to the fans, of whom the franchise would be nothing without. I’m honored to pay tribute to them in this new campaign.”

Game Of Thrones: Legends was released last week and is available now as a free-to-play puzzler for mobile devices.

Speaking to NME, Yaron Leyvand, executive vice president of mobile games at Zynga, said, “We have worked closely with the team at Warner Bros. Games to bring the Game Of Thrones universe and characters to life in a rich tableau. In this game, players can build their house of champions with characters from both Game Of Thrones and House Of The Dragon and utilize the lore of the series to create their own unique story.”

Harington, who played Jon Snow for all eight seasons of Game Of Thrones, was previously involved in discussions around a potential spin-off series focusing on his character’s exploits after the series finale. However, earlier this year, he confirmed that the spin-off idea had been shelved because producers couldn’t find the right story to tell.

“There may be a time in the future where we return to it, but at the moment, no. It’s firmly on the shelf,” Harington added.

In other related news, several blockbuster games, including Grand Theft Auto 6 and Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6, will not be impacted by the ongoing voice actor strike.
