Knock at the Cabin Writers to Pen Horror Thriller ‘Wilderness Reform’

Paramount Pictures is embarking on a new cinematic journey by transforming the horror thriller novel Wilderness Reform into a feature film. The screenplay will be co-written by Steve Desmond and Michael Sherman, known for their work on Knock at the Cabin. This development marks an exciting step forward in bringing this gripping story to the big screen.

Wilderness Reform is adapted from the 2024 book of the same name by brothers Harrison and Matt Query. Lindsey Anderson Beer, notable for Pet Sematary: Bloodline, will produce the film through her Lab Brew production company as part of her first-look deal with Paramount Pictures. Joining her in production duties will be Scott Glassgold from Ground Control Productions, recognized for his work on Tarot.

The film’s plot unfolds at a wilderness camp designed for troubled teens and centers on a 13-year-old boy named Ben. Sent to the camp for a reform program, Ben quickly senses that something is off about the place and its staff. The overly cheerful demeanor of the camp counselors strikes Ben as disingenuous, raising his suspicions that something far more sinister is at play.

Additionally, Ben notices that his cabin mates possess unique abilities. As the camp becomes plagued by eerie events and unexplained disappearances, these skills prove invaluable. Working together, Ben and his new friends delve into the ominous mysteries surrounding the camp, striving to uncover the truth.

At this time, a director has not been confirmed for the project, nor have any actors been announced. These details remain highly anticipated, and updates will be shared as they become available. For readers interested in experiencing the story in its original form, the Wilderness Reform book can be purchased on Amazon in both hardcover ($27.49 before taxes) and eBook ($12.99 before taxes) formats. Barnes & Noble also offers the book, with hardcovers priced at $28.99 before taxes and eBooks at $12.99 before taxes.
