Lady Gaga Adopts a New Puppy, 3 Years After Dognapping Incident

Lady Gaga has welcomed a new puppy into her life. On Monday, the singer introduced an adorable French Bulldog puppy to her TikTok followers. This new addition to her family comes three years after a dramatic incident involving her beloved pups, Koji and Gustav.

The Oscar-winning actress shared a heartwarming video where she is seen in dramatic makeup, with black hair, cuddling what appears to be a two-month-old Frenchie. In the caption, she used a snowflake emoji, which might hint at the puppy’s name.

The Joker: Folie à Deux star set the video to her new song with Bruno Mars, “Die With A Smile,” singing along to the lyrics. She confirmed in the caption that the pup is a new family member, responding “Our new Queen” to Dylan Mulvaney, who commented about meeting the new addition.

Lady Gaga previously went through a traumatic experience when two of her three French Bulldogs, Koji and Gustav, were dognapped in February 2021. Her dog walker, Ryan Fischer, was shot and severely injured during the incident. The third dog, Miss Asia, managed to escape and was later found by the police.

At the time of the incident, Lady Gaga was in Italy filming House of Gucci. She offered a $500,000 reward with no questions asked for the safe return of her dogs. Three days after the kidnapping, a woman named Jennifer McBride reported to the LAPD that she had found the dogs tied to a pole in an alley, miles away from where they were taken. Initially, McBride was believed to be a good Samaritan, but police soon grew suspicious and advised Gaga not to pay the reward.

On April 29th, the LAPD announced that five individuals had been arrested in connection to the case, including McBride.

The people involved in the dognapping incident received various sentences. James Jackson, who shot Ryan Fischer, was sentenced to 21 years in prison after pleading no contest to attempted murder. Jaylin White received a four-year prison sentence for his role after pleading no contest to charges related to the dognapping. Lafayette Whaley, the getaway driver, was sentenced to six years in prison as part of a plea deal. Jaylin’s father, Harold White, was sentenced to four years in jail after pleading no contest to being an ex-convict in possession of a firearm. Jennifer McBride, who returned the dogs, was sentenced to two years of probation after pleading no contest to receiving stolen property.
