Lainey Wilson Talks About Drinking With Miranda Lambert

Lainey Wilson recently released her new album titled Whirlwind on August 23rd, which includes a collaboration with Miranda Lambert called “Good Horses.”

Wilson and Lambert share similar personalities and have developed a strong friendship through their work together. Wilson even refers to Lambert as her “country music big sister.” Beyond their professional relationship, they’ve had chances to hang out socially as well.

During a recent episode of Taste of Country Nights: On Demand, host Evan Paul asked Wilson about her off-stage moments with Lambert by filling in the blank: “One time I got drunk with Miranda Lambert and _____.”

“Smoked too many cigarettes,” Wilson responded quickly, bursting into laughter. She went on to admit, “I don’t smoke unless I’m around her,” adding that Lambert always influences her. “She does it to me every time. I’m like, ‘Lord!'”

Intrigued, Evan Paul guessed that Lambert smokes menthols, which Wilson confirmed was true. She reminisced about her college days, saying, “In college I used to be about them Camel Crushes. Pop the end. I don’t know if it was because I liked popping the end, but I liked them a little too much, yep.”

Their new ventures sit close together in downtown Nashville. Wilson’s new branded bar, Bell Bottoms Up, is just a short walk from Lambert’s Casa Rosa. “We kinda have a lot in common,” Wilson noted, discussing her bond with Lambert. “She tells me what to do and what not to do. She checks on me, cares for me, she’s like, ‘Where you at? How’s your head? How’s your heart?'”
