Lainey Wilson’s Boyfriend Faces Unexpected Rivalry From a 4-Year-Old

Look out, Devlin “Duck” Hodges: It sounds like there’s another suitor interested in winning Lainey Wilson’s heart.

In a recent episode of Today With Hoda & Jenna, show host Jenna Bush Hager revealed that her four-year-old son, Henry “Hal” Harold, just might have developed his own “romance” after meeting the country star.

It all started back when Wilson visited the show and Bush Hager introduced her to her three children, also including 11-year-old Mila and eight-year-old Poppy. “Afterward, Hal Hager, age four…whispered to Mila, ‘She asked me to be her boyfriend. Lainey asked me if I would be her boyfriend,'” she recounts.

“Mila was like, ‘Huh? That singer?'” Bush Hager continues. “[He said] ‘Yeah, she asked me. And now I’m her boyfriend.'”

The family brushed it off as a four-year-old’s adorable imagination, and even “made fun of him” a little bit for the story. Of course, in real life, Wilson has been in a relationship with former NFL quarterback Duck Hodges for at least two-and-a-half years, and things are pretty serious: They live together. Wilson took their relationship red carpet official at the 2023 CMA Awards.

But little Hal stuck to his story. Fortunately for Duck, it sounds like Wilson and Hal’s relationship is now in the past.

“I heard him say the other day, ‘Well, I called and broke up with her,'” Bush Hager relates. “So, Lainey, you have an admirer named Hal Hager who has created a whole story about how y’all once dated. And then he called and dumped you, which we know is false.”

Devlin “Duck” Hodges is a former NFL quarterback who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and was briefly signed to the L.A. Rams.

He’s an Alabama native and a graduate of Samford University.

He gets his “Duck” nickname from his love of duck hunting. He’s still a prolific hunter who often shares his hauls on social media.

Before debuting their relationship on the 2023 CMA Awards carpet, Wilson was pretty tight-lipped about her love life, other than talking about a steamy on-screen kiss her Yellowstone character shared Ian Bohen during the show’s fifth season.
