Latto Delivers ‘Sunday Service,’ ‘Big Mama’ at 2024 BET Awards

The 2024 BET Awards boasted several high-voltage performances, and Latto’s set was among the standout moments.

This year’s ceremony took place live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 28. Latto graced the stage, captivating the audience with her performances of “Sunday Service” and “Big Mama” at the star-studded event.

The Atlanta rapper kicked off her set wearing an elegant, full-length fur coat. She began with the introspective song “Sunday Service.” Through heartfelt lyrics, Latto reflected on her formative years and the challenges she faced on her journey to becoming one of the top rappers in the industry.

Transitioning seamlessly, the ATL rhymer then delivered an energetic rendition of “Big Mama.” This performance electrified the crowd. Sporting a shimmering, leopard-printed outfit that showcased her curves, Latto swung a pair of panties, adding flair to her performance. She rapped, “On some Andre 3K s**t, man, where the f**k are my panties at?/’Cause I ain’t wearin’ none, I ain’t wearin’ none/I ain’t wearin’ none, I ain’t wearin’ none.”

Last year’s BET Awards also saw Latto making waves. She performed her then-new single “Put It on Da Floor” and secured the Best Female Hip Hop Artist award. She triumphed over other top-tier nominees such as GloRilla, Ice Spice, Cardi B, Coi Leray, Megan Thee Stallion, and Nicki Minaj.

This year, the BET Awards spotlighted various female rappers who have made significant impacts in the music industry. The performers included nominees from the Best Female Hip Hop Artist category: Cardi B, Doja Cat, GloRilla, Ice Spice, Latto, Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, and Sexyy Red. Notably absent were Nicki, Doja, and Cardi, although other iconic artists like Will Smith and Lauryn Hill also took to the stage.
