Liam Gallagher Becomes New Face of Fashion Brand Stone Island

Barely a week after resolving a bitter feud with his brother, Liam Gallagher is stepping into the spotlight yet again. But, Oasis fans, there’s no need to worry. The frontman will now feature prominently as the new face of the esteemed fashion brand Stone Island, leading their autumn and winter campaign.

Gallagher has long admired the label, often seen sporting its signature parkas even during summer tours. His dedication to the brand is unmistakable. In July 2017, he even publicly appealed to the “cunt” who had stolen some of Stone Island’s emblematic jackets from his hotel room at the Glastonbury festival, urging them to return the items with a promise of forgiveness.

Joining him in the Stone Island campaign are names like DJ Peggy Gou, who makes history as the first woman to be featured in such a campaign by the brand. The actor Russell Tovey and skateboarder Sage Elsesser are also part of this stellar lineup.

In his earlier years, Gallagher made waves in the fashion industry, most notably when he crashed the Versace catwalk in 1996. More recently, in collaboration with Adidas, he released the LG2 SPZL X trainers, which come in a sleek white with bottle green stripes.

Gallagher’s fashion influence doesn’t stop there. In 2009, just two months before Oasis’s initial breakup, he launched his own fashion label, Pretty Green. The line featured a range of items including polo shirts, knitwear, coats, and shoes. It debuted with immense enthusiasm, drawing 100,000 fans on its opening day, which even caused the website to crash. However, the label’s popularity eventually declined, leading the company into administration in 2019, after which it was acquired by JD Sports.

The fashion legacy continues with Gallagher’s 24-year-old son, Lennon, who has recently stepped into the limelight by starring in a Burberry campaign.

In the broader realm of fashion, other brands are also leveraging the lasting appeal of an Oasis reunion. For instance, Levi’s has introduced a collection of band T-shirts celebrating 30 years since the release of the band’s debut album, “Definitely Maybe.” Meanwhile, luxury streetwear brand Represent Clothing has teased a picture of a collaborative T-shirt with the band.

The recent months have been dubbed “brat summer” by many, leading some Oasis fans to declare the upcoming July and August as “Wonderwall summer”. The dominant color for the season remains a mystery, though if Noel Gallagher has any influence, it’ll be “anything but beige”.
