Lil Mosey Insists It’s Not a Comeback

Lil Mosey has had one of the more interesting paths in hip-hop.

After being one of the faces of his generation as a melodic rapper between 2017-2020, Mosey faced legal trouble. After battling for two years in court, Mosey was found not guilty in March 2023. He has not released a full album since 2020’s Certified Hitmaker.

Despite facing challenges in the algorithm-driven era that rewards prolific content creators, Mosey has maintained his online presence, unlike some of his late 2010s peers such as YBN Nahmir and Famous Dex.

After staying afloat with singles and the three-song EP “UNI” over the past three years, Mosey is making a comeback in 2024 — and is eager to remind his fans of his return.

Mosey gave rolling out the latest update of his career and a special message for the people who miss “2020 Mosey.”

What’s new with your music, and should people expect any new releases?

I’m dropping an EP. It’s going to be eight to nine songs that I’m going to be dropping in a month. The first single [“By Yourself”] came out in July, so it’s time to turn up on these n—–.

What advice do you have for young artists who struggle to get more than 200 OR 1,000 plays on a song?

You have to start somewhere, man.

I was getting 200 plays at one point, too, back in the day.

You just have to keep working. Keep trying, and the s— is going to happen. You just have to keep pushing — and that’s how you do it.
