Lil Wayne’s lyric notebook is now officially on the market, accompanied by a significant price tag, following the conclusion of a prolonged ownership dispute earlier this year.

TMZ has learned that the rapper’s notebook from the 90s is up for grabs at a whopping $5 million. This comes five years after it was initially listed for $250,000.

Moments in Time, the company overseeing the sale, defended the steep markup in discussions with TMZ, citing Lil Wayne’s status as one of the greatest rappers ever, which elevates the value of his handwritten lyrics.

But it’s not just the high price that’s catching attention. Back in 2019, Moments in Time created a buzz by attempting to sell the notebook on behalf of a man who claimed he found it in a car once owned by Cash Money Records.

Lil Wayne fiercely objected to this sale, demanding the return of his work. His attorneys sent a cease and desist letter to Moments in Time, alleging the company had no right to sell the lyrics. They also accused the man who found the notebook of dishonesty and waiting for the perfect moment to profit from it.

The man who found the notebook fought back, arguing the concept of “finders-keepers” and asking the court to declare him the rightful owner. He also demanded that Lil Wayne stop his alleged intimidation efforts. Despite the uproar, Lil Wayne did not respond to the legal proceedings, resulting in the court ruling against him.
