Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis Reveal “Freaky Friday” Sequel at D23 Expo

Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis revealed the title of their highly anticipated “Freaky Friday” sequel at the D23 Expo in California on Friday.

Lindsay, 38, showcased a stylish Balmain outfit featuring a black sculpted mini skirt and white shirt. She told the audience that the new movie, titled “Freakier Friday,” will be “more fun, it’s more emotional, and it’s all for you guys.”

‘Seriously, the only reason we are back here doing this is because of your love. That is why,’ she added.

Jamie Lee, 65, wearing an elegant bejeweled suit, said, “It feels like picking up where we left off, which is really beautiful.”

The smash hit 2003 comedy saw the duo play mother and daughter whose bodies are switched by a mysterious and magical Chinese ornament. While plot details for the sequel remain mostly under wraps, Lindsay recently disclosed some information.

“Well, I can’t say much, but I am taking guitar lessons and I do have a daughter in the movie,” she revealed during a recent appearance on Good Morning America. “It’s going to be a really Freaky Friday. Much freakier than you would expect.”

Lindsay expressed how much she enjoyed working with Jamie again. “We all have so much fun. It’s so great to have that…you always want to have a good time. It’s just a lot of love, a lot of fun, a lot of laughs. It’s a great experience,” she said.

She added, “Jamie and I have stayed in touch over the years. They always say when you have a best friend, or someone you’re really close with, and you don’t see them for years and years, but when you see them again, it’s like you never separated. I think just always, women supporting women is such an incredible thing.”

Their first photos from the Walt Disney Studios set subtly nod to the original movie’s premise of a mother-daughter body swap. In the photo, Jamie sticks out her tongue while throwing up the rock and roll sign as Lindsay sits upright and sweetly smiles at the camera.

The studio captioned the photo, “The Colemans are back and coming to theaters in 2025! The sequel to Freaky Friday is now in production!”

Disney also unveiled the first look at their live-action adaptation of the 1937 classic fairytale Snow White at the event.

The first teaser trailer for the musical film was released, starring Rachel Zegler, 23, as the titular princess, and Gal Gadot, 39, as the iconic Evil Queen.

Throughout the trailer, we see glimpses of the CGI Seven Dwarfs, starting with their silhouettes as they walk to work in the mines, before later dancing with Snow White in their cottage.

Over the summer, the film received negative attention after it was revealed that the dwarfs would be replaced by seven ‘magical (non-dwarf) creatures’ to align storytelling with 21st-century political correctness.

However, the film is now going through a major overhaul, with only the animated dwarfs featured in the new trailer.

We also get a glimpse of Snow White with the male lead character named Jonathan, played by Andrew Burnap, 33.

In the original Disney animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Prince Florian was Snow White’s love interest. However, the new film is taking a different approach, after Zegler admitted in interviews that she “hated” the original 1937 movie, describing the film’s Prince as a “stalker” and calling the storyline “weird.”

The trailer opens with scenes of a magical world, with Zegler entering a cottage surrounded by a charming menagerie of woodland creatures. She sings “Whistle While You Work,” as she dances with the animated dwarfs, including Doc, Grumpy, Sleepy, Happy, Sneezy, Bashful, and Dopey.

Snow White is then seen gazing into a well, while the Evil Queen, played by Gadot, stormingly exits a balcony.

Later in the trailer, Snow White is attacked by a moving tree in a dark forest. The trailer concludes with Snow White reaching out her hand to grasp the poisoned apple.

Snow White is set to hit theaters on March 21.
