Linkin Park’s Second Album Sales Surge 372%

Last year, Linkin Park celebrated their sophomore album *Meteora*’s twentieth anniversary. The band released a special edition, including some exclusive and previously unreleased tracks, propelling it to bestseller status once more.

More than a year later, Linkin Park continues to honor *Meteora*. In July, the band unveiled a new vinyl edition of the project, and fans flocked to purchase it. This surge in vinyl sales has driven the album back onto several *Billboard* charts, signaling a significant boost in popularity.

Over the last tracking week, *Meteora* sold nearly 3,200 copies, according to Luminate. This impressive sales figure catapulted Linkin Park’s bestselling album back onto the Top Album Sales chart, securing the No. 38 spot this week. The prior week had seen fewer than 700 copies sold in the U.S.

This represents a remarkable 372% increase in sales from one week to the next. Such a sharp uptick is always noteworthy, but it’s even more striking considering that *Meteora* has been available for so long and many fans had already purchased the special edition last year.

The bulk vinyl purchases have driven *Meteora* back onto seven different *Billboard* charts this week. It naturally reappears on the Vinyl Albums list, claiming the No. 15 position. This marks its third nonconsecutive appearance on the chart.

The success of the vinyl edition has also translated into strong performances on other charts. *Meteora* has broken into the top 10 on the Top Alternative Albums chart at No. 8 and the Top Hard Rock Albums chart at No. 4. It has also performed well on both the Top Rock Albums chart at No. 16 and the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart at No. 20.

In terms of total consumption, *Meteora* moved 13,500 equivalent units across the U.S. last week. This total represents a substantial increase from the previous tracking period, with physical sales playing a significant role in inflating the number. Consequently, Linkin Park’s sophomore effort has re-entered the Billboard 200, landing at No. 74.
