Listen to Lestat’s First Single from ‘Interview With The Vampire’ Season 3

Season 3 of “Interview with the Vampire” will delve into Lestat’s rock star lifestyle and flamboyant antics. The song “Long Face,” associated with this new season, offers a glimpse into Lestat’s egotistical character and hints at his diva behavior. Showrunner Rolin Jones has promised a unique and pop masterpiece approach with Lestat’s rock star transformation in the upcoming season.

During the “Interview with the Vampire” panel at SDCC, AMC reinforced their commitment to keeping fans engaged during the series’ hiatus. Even though Season 2 recently concluded, the network provided plenty of material about the forthcoming episodes, including the surprise release of the lyric video for the “Long Face” song.

The song emphasizes Lestat’s (Sam Reid) self-centered nature, suggesting that he will be even more egotistical in Season 3. The lyrics invite listeners to “come appraise” Lestat, implying he has no fear of vampire-killing weapons. It also touches on Lestat’s hedonistic lifestyle, hinting that viewers will see him fully embrace the rock star life when the new season airs.

A teaser revealed at SDCC indicates that Season 3 will focus on Lestat, giving a new spin to the series’ title. The teaser adopts a mockumentary style, showing Lestat’s displeasure with how Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) and Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) depict him. Lestat insists on telling his own version of the story, but his erratic behavior suggests that his account may not be entirely trustworthy.

The teaser also hints at Lestat’s present-day life as the lead singer of a rock band. His diva antics include complaining about objects, refusing to wear makeup, and expressing his annoyance with those around him. His disdain for the “Interview with the Vampire” book is clear, and the sneak peek plays to the sound of “Long Face.”

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, series creator and showrunner Rolin Jones discussed the unexpected direction for Season 3. He and his team aim to create something extraordinary, setting high standards for the new episodes.

Jones elaborated, “Lestat becomes a rock star. Let’s start there. We’re going to do a lot with that and are excited about potentially working with Daniel Hart, who’s done the music for the first two seasons. We’re going to try to beat ‘Hedwig and the Angry Inch’ and ‘Rocky Horror.’ We’re about to try to make a little pop masterpiece.”

While AMC has not yet announced a release window for “Interview with the Vampire” Season 3, fans can enjoy the newly released lyric video in the meantime.
