Livvy Dunne, Jayden Daniels & Angel Reese Star in LSU’s NIL Docuseries ‘The Money Game’

Olivia Dunne

Perhaps no one is a greater reflection of the power of the NCAA’s name, image, and likeness movement than LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne. Her ascent has been meteoric and nothing short of staggering. In a few short years, Dunne has gone from relative obscurity to Instagram sensation, to becoming a multi-millionaire national champion. She’s now dating fellow Tiger and current Pirates superstar pitcher Paul Skenes.

Amazon had the brilliant idea to produce a documentary series titled The Money Game at the Baton Rouge-based university. This series aims to capture Dunne’s life behind the scenes, as well as the storylines surrounding the school’s other prominent athletes.

LSU is perhaps most known for its college football atmosphere. Apart from Joe Burrow, reigning Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels is the most notable signal-caller to emerge from this powerhouse SEC program in recent memory. Daniels was the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and is in line to start for the Washington Commanders this season.

What a fortunate turn of events for Amazon to be following Daniels around and documenting his surprising explosion of a Heisman season. Prior to the 2023 campaign, Daniels wasn’t viewed as a slam-dunk first-round QB prospect. However, his greatness in his final year at LSU was undeniable, and now he carries the hopes of an entire NFL franchise on his shoulders.

We couldn’t get a trailer for an LSU NIL docuseries without some spice behind the scenes regarding basketball star Angel Reese. She helped the Tigers to a national title during the 2022-23 season. Unfortunately, she ran into the buzzsaw that was Caitlin Clark at Iowa in the Final Four this past season and continues to be overshadowed by Clark in the race for WNBA Rookie of the Year. Reese is nothing if not controversial and polarizing, so it was a genius move for Amazon to follow her around with cameras as well.

This trailer dropped pretty much out of nowhere and is slated for a September 10 release on Amazon Prime Video. It will be quite compelling to see how the seasons of all these extraordinary athletes unfolded — and how they managed to juggle their NIL obligations while still achieving massive success in the athletic arena.
