Louis Tomlinson of One Direction couldn’t get a queue number for Oasis tickets

Former One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson recently shared his disappointment about missing out on tickets for Oasis’s highly anticipated comeback tour. Tomlinson, like thousands of other eager fans, was unsuccessful in securing tickets for the event.

Speaking with Sky Sports’ Martin Brundle during the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday, Tomlinson was asked if he managed to secure any tickets for the highly sought-after concerts. The 32-year-old openly admitted that he was among the many who couldn’t get a ticket. “I didn’t, I was in the queue, but I never got a number… I did try, I did try,” he confessed.

When asked if he could leverage his celebrity status to get a free pass from the Gallagher brothers, Tomlinson responded with a hopeful, “I have my fingers crossed.”

The British star has often expressed his admiration for Oasis, calling them “the best band” while promoting his debut solo album Walls in 2020.

Interestingly, the Gallagher brothers have shown kindness to Tomlinson in the past. Liam Gallagher referred to him as a “top lad” on social media, and Noel Gallagher revealed that his daughter was a huge fan of Tomlinson when she was younger.

The sale of tickets for the Oasis tour, which includes sold-out concerts in London, Manchester, Cardiff, Edinburgh, and Dublin, has faced heavy criticism from fans. Ticketmaster has been at the center of this criticism.

Tickets went on sale on the morning of August 31, following a surprise announcement just four days earlier. Many fans spent hours attempting to access the booking page, only to be met with frustration and disappointment.

Some fans who persevered through long waiting times found that the price of standing tickets had risen dramatically from a previously advertised £150 to as much as £355, thanks to Ticketmaster’s surge pricing policy.

Others who had waited in the virtual queue for hours were further dismayed to find their sessions “suspended” or accused of being “bots.”

According to Ticketmaster, the aim of their dynamic pricing policy is to “give the most passionate fans fair and safe access to the most in-demand tickets while allowing the artists and everyone involved in staging live events to price tickets closer to their fair value.”
