Lourdes Leon Stars in David Koma’s First Campaign

LONDON — David Koma is marking a milestone as his label reaches its 15-year anniversary by unveiling his inaugural ad campaign for resort 2025, featuring Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes Leon.

“Because of the 15-year anniversary, I really wanted to add this personal artistic touch with the appearance of my first muse. For a long time, I’ve been a fan of her beauty and I went to see her perform at The Standard’s cocktail bar, Sweeties, where everything that I thought of her before I met her was even more exciting. She really delivered an amazing kind of art,” said the Georgian-born Koma in an interview.

The campaign features 12 images in which Leon models Koma’s latest collection in a studio with a gray backdrop. The pieces she’s wearing were inspired by sculpturist Isabelle Albuquerque’s abstract work and German model turned artist Veruschka von Lehndorff’s work with body paint.

In one image, the musician is wearing a bodysuit with a deer print and chain mail while doing the splits. “It’s one of the coolest images — nobody expected it when she did the splits,” Koma said.

Koma has long been fascinated by Madonna, a source of inspiration that he always turns to when he’s having a creative block.

“I do look a lot at powerful female performers that I listen to,” he told WWD in 2022. Fans of his risqué dresses include Jennifer Lopez, Olivia Rodrigo, Gal Gadot and more.
