Love Blossoms in ‘The Bachelorette’ Season Premiere

Love is in the air this summer, as a new season of the popular dating game show “The Bachelorette” kicks off on Monday, July 8, on ABC. This time, the show is making history with its first Asian American lead, former “Bachelor” contestant Jenn Tran. Tran is currently a student in the physician assistant program at Barry University in Miami.

She first captured the audience’s attention during Joey Graziadei’s season of “The Bachelor.” While Tran didn’t make it to the hometown dates, being sent home just before, she became a fan favorite and left a lasting impression on viewers. Her popularity led to her being announced as the next Bachelorette during the “After the Final Rose” special in March. In an emotional moment, Tran received the crown from the former Bachelorette, Charity Lawson, whose season concluded with a heartfelt on-screen engagement.

Originally from New Jersey, Tran’s parents emigrated from Vietnam before she was born. She has lived in both the Midwest and Florida during her academic journey. Looking forward to the upcoming adventure, Tran shared with Entertainment Tonight her excitement about finding love in new places.

“I don’t know where we’re going yet, but I can’t wait to find out,” said Tran. Expressing one of her travel dreams, she continued, “I’ve always wanted to go to Africa my entire life. I love animals and would love to visit the sanctuaries and go on lots of safari rides. So maybe that’s in the cards.”

This season promises to break the mold in more ways than one. “We’re really breaking the mold this season,” Tran mentioned, highlighting a significant shift for the franchise. Season 28 of “The Bachelor” saw its final rose ceremony at the iconic Agoura Hills, California, home known as the “Bachelor Mansion.” Many unforgettable moments occurred there, but now, it’s time for a change.

The new location for the show’s premieres is Hummingbird Nest Ranch, the setting for the “Listen to Your Heart” series. Tran is enthusiastic about the change. “I feel like a new mansion is the perfect way to break the mold… I’m gonna bless it with some really good vibes,” she assured fans.

With 25 eligible bachelors ready to capture Tran’s heart, this season is set to be thrilling.
