Luke Combs’ Fantasy League Losers Join Him Onstage

Last season, Luke Combs and his fantasy football league devised an amusing punishment for whoever finished last: a live performance during one of Combs’ concerts. This unique penalty was enacted during Combs’ show in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Saturday (Aug. 3).

Interrupting his set, Combs explained to the audience that the agreed punishment required the losers to join him on stage and sing in front of the crowd. “I’ve been in a fantasy football league with some of my best friends from high school for 12 years now,” he shared. “Last year we decided that whoever lost was gonna have to come onstage and sing with me tonight.”

Not just one, but two of Combs’ friends ended up facing this musical consequence. “Lucky for me, there was a scoring issue in the last game, and my two best friends in the whole world both lost, and they both have to come out and sing in front of you guys tonight,” Combs explained, visibly excited. “And it’s about to happen. I’m so excited.”

The singer’s friends had evidently been dreading this moment. Despite their nerves, a bet is a bet, and they came forward to fulfill their end of the bargain, performing a song of Combs’ choice.

“I want everybody to get a nice look at their blue suede shoes, because these boys are about to be walking in Memphis,” Combs announced as the crowd cheered enthusiastically.

What followed was an exuberant, though somewhat off-key, rendition of Marc Cohn’s “Walking in Memphis.” While Combs’ friends might not have matched his vocal prowess, they certainly shared his stage charisma. One even autographed a baseball hat and threw it into the crowd, adding a personal touch to the fun moment.

This light-hearted punishment took place during the second night of Combs’ Cincinnati stop on his 2024 Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour, delighting fans with an unforgettable and humorous performance.
