Marking the fifth installment in the Mad Max franchise by George Miller, Furiosa serves as a prequel to 2015’s Oscar-winning Mad Max: Fury Road. It delves into the backstory of Imperator Furiosa, played by Anya Taylor-Joy, taking over from Charlize Theron’s portrayal in the previous film.

Directed by Miller, who co-wrote the script with Nico Lathouris, the film explores Furiosa’s early life. As she fights to survive, Furiosa navigates various allegiances and rivalries, shaping her into the formidable leader seen in Fury Road.

Chris Hemsworth and Tom Burke are among the other stars of the film, which was produced by Miller and Doug Mitchell and premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
