MAGA Artist Unveils Apocalyptic Image of Kamala Harris Devouring Bald Eagle

A painting depicting Kamala Harris laughing while tearing into the bloody guts of a dead bald eagle was the focal point at the annual gathering of Moms for Liberty in a Washington, D.C. hotel basement this weekend. The artwork elicited delight from attendees and puzzled reactions from online observers.

The conservative group’s “Joyful Warriors” summit, marketed as “the ultimate gathering of parents fighting to defend their parental rights and improve education in America,” attracted around 600 attendees over four days, according to The Atlantic.

Many attendees “stood in awe” of the grotesque, pseudo-satirical painting, as reported by the magazine. The artwork showed the vice president—who is also the Democratic nominee for president—kneeling over the bird’s bloodied corpse, her hands and mouth covered in gore, with a communist symbol on her jacket. Another figure in the painting, President Joe Biden, wore a dunce cap while sitting on a stool with an oversized knife in his back. A nuclear mushroom cloud loomed in the background to underline the apocalyptic theme.

A label underneath, based on photos posted on social media, identified the work as “We Did It Joe” by Scott LoBaido. Known as “Staten Island’s most celebrated artist-provocateur” by The New York Times, LoBaido is a notorious MAGA activist known for his many iterations of the American flag on canvas and for pro-Trump performance art. He has presented various pieces to Donald Trump, including one in July that depicted the aftermath of an assassination attempt on the former president.

Earlier this week, LoBaido began promoting his latest work on social media, announcing its unveiling on Friday in D.C. In a video filmed en route to the capital, LoBaido declared to his audience that he would have to “apologize to Leonardo da Vinci in advance” for the unveiling.

“This painting, aptly titled ‘We Did It Joe,’ is going to be the next painting, for the next 500 years, that everybody’s going to know about,” he claimed. “People might not forget the Mona Lisa, but she’s going to be in the back seat. That’s just the way it is.”

In another video the following day, LoBaido unveiled the painting in front of the U.S. Capitol, promising that it would “change the course of history.”

There was no clarification on whether the original painting is for sale. However, signed 12-inch-by-16-inch poster prints are available on his website for $59. Neither LoBaido nor a representative for Moms for Liberty responded to requests for comment on Sunday afternoon.

Moms for Liberty boasts around 130,000 members nationwide. The summit featured panels discussing topics such as abolishing the Department of Education and distributing pamphlets on child sex trafficking. Headliners included right-wing comedian Rob Schneider and former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.

The high point of the event was a Friday night appearance by former president Donald Trump. According to The Guardian, Trump engaged in a “long, zigzagging and at times incoherent” conversation with the organization’s co-founder Tiffany Justice. Their discussion meandered through subjects ranging from Ivanka Trump’s clothing line to The Apprentice to Trump’s recent visit to Arlington National Cemetery.

One topic left unaddressed was the raw eagle entrails. Known for his specific and somewhat controversial preferences, the former president likely wouldn’t jump at the chance to sample fresh meat with the enthusiasm of the Harris depicted in LoBaido’s painting. But well-done with ketchup? Perhaps.
