Mamie Laverock’s Family Concludes GoFundMe for Medical Expenses

The GoFundMe campaign for When Calls the Heart actress Mamie Laverock has been closed. This decision was communicated through an update on the GoFundMe page on Wednesday, July 17. Along with the closure of the fundraiser, a heartfelt message from Mamie herself was shared.

The message, delivered in an update, suggests that there might be some positive news following Mamie’s severe injuries. The family made the decision to end the fundraiser, while also expressing gratitude towards fans for their support.

The message seemed to come directly from Mamie, where she wrote, “Thank you so much. I don’t even know what to say. My heart is full. Thank you again. I have no words to describe my gratitude. Love you guys. Thank you. MAMIE.” The original goal of the fundraiser was to collect $30,000, but friends and fans generously contributed $39,022.

Run by Mamie’s mother and stepfather, Nicole Rockmann and Rob Compton, the GoFundMe was aimed at covering her medical expenses. They also expressed their appreciation and confirmed that the family collectively decided to close the fundraiser. “The Fund has now closed. Please know how much you helped this family in our hardest circumstances. Thank you for caring. Warmth, Nicole and Rob,” they wrote. Marking a major milestone, Mamie celebrated her 20th birthday on July 8.

On her birthday, Mamie’s mother shared an emotional update, stating, “Mamie moved onto her stomach, pushed herself up and held onto me … at that moment we realized we could have our first hug.” Just two weeks prior, she had mentioned that “Mamie survived her injuries, however her road to recovery will be long. I will be setting up a mailbox for all of your cards and well wishes shortly.”

The rapid progress in Mamie’s condition is evident. Weeks after indicating that the road to recovery would be lengthy, Mamie’s physical progress allowed her to sit up. Following this progress, the fundraiser was eventually closed, speaking volumes about her recovery trajectory.

Originally, Mamie Laverock was hospitalized in May after a “medical emergency” in Winnipeg. While receiving “intensive treatment,” Mamie fell from a balcony walkway, plummeting five stories, which resulted in severe injuries. Details on how the incident occurred remain undisclosed.

Mamie’s mother earlier described the situation, stating her “body has been shattered.” Citing patient privacy policies, the hospital did not release specific details about the incident, and Mamie’s family has also chosen to keep the specifics private.
