The cutthroat culture of the finance world has never been sexier than “Industry” Season 3.

With the addition of new cast members Kit Harington and Sarah Goldberg, the tension is set to escalate for the Pierpoint London crew. The official Season 3 synopsis states: “As Pierpoint looks to the future and takes a big bet on ethical investing, Yasmin (Marisa Abela), Robert (Harry Lawtey), and Eric (Ken Leung) find themselves front and center in the splashy IPO of Lumi, a green tech energy company led by Sir Henry Muck (Kit Harington), in a story that runs all the way to the very top of finance, media, and government. Since leaving Pierpoint, Harper (Myha’la) is eager to get back into the addictive thrill of finance and finds an unlikely partner in FutureDawn portfolio manager Petra Koenig (Sarah Goldberg).”

The series is the brainchild of writers/directors/executive producers Mickey Down and Konrad Kay. Isabella Eklöf and Zoé Wittock also contribute as directors for Season 3. Conor MacNeill, Sagar Radia, Indy Lewis, Adam Levy, Sarah Parish, Trevor White, Elena Saurel, and Irfan Shamji co-star. Joining them this season are new cast members Miriam Petche, Andrew Havill, Roger Barclay, Fady Elsayed, and Fiona Button.

The third season premiered at the 2024 ATX TV Festival, where co-creators Kay and Down described the new episodes as “super intense.” They mentioned that the core cast would descend into “self-destruction” this season.

Down hinted at possible redemption arcs, saying, “There might be [redemption coming,]” and added, “I think this season comes the closest to showing what being redeemed would be. They’re even more heinous this season.” Kay elaborated, noting, “There are definitely moments of grace. [We’re finding out] who can’t exist without [the work] and who’s early enough in the cycle to be able to get out.”

“Industry” originally debuted in 2020. IndieWire critic Ben Travers compared the series to a “slick, British ‘Margin Call’” crossed with financial films like “Wall Street” and “The Wolf of Wall Street,” stating that it features exactly zero morality. He praised the show’s natural rhythm and the cast’s capability but noted that they needed more substantial material to work with.

“Industry” Season 3 premieres on August 11 on HBO and will be available to stream on Max. Check out the trailer below.
