Marisa Tomei’s 100% Rotten Tomatoes Film Receives Major Release Update

The next film from an Oscar-winning Spider-Man star and a prominent actor from The Boys spin-off Gen V just received an exciting release update. According to a report from Variety, High Tide, featuring Marco Pigossi (Gen V) and Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny), has been picked up by Strand Releasing through LD Entertainment and will hit theaters later this year. The movie also stars James Bland (Giants), Bill Irwin (Interstellar), and Mya Taylor. Written and directed by Marco Calvani, known for his short films from 2017 and 2022, High Tide marks Calvani’s feature film debut. The film premiered at SXSW earlier this year and boasts a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from seven reviews.

The storyline follows an undocumented Brazilian immigrant who is lost in the United States during the summer after a heartbreaking experience. He searches for companionship in the queer-friendly community of Provincetown and meets a charismatic man who turns out to be a much closer match than he initially imagined. The compelling plot has garnered early acclaim at SXSW, as evidenced by its flawless rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
