Martine McCutcheon Heartbreak: Husband of 18 Years Leaves Her

Martine McCutcheon has revealed that she and her husband, Jack McManus, are parting ways after 18 years of marriage.

The Love Actually star, now 48, wed musician McManus, 40, in 2012 following a five-year relationship. McManus proposed at London’s Embankment, and the couple sealed their union with a romantic ceremony in Lake Como, Italy. Three years into their marriage, they welcomed their son, Rafferty.

McCutcheon announced their separation through a statement on her Instagram story while on a “much needed” holiday with their nine-year-old son in Marbella, Spain.

“After much thought and consideration, Jack has decided it’s best for us to separate after 18 years together, and I accept his decision,” McCutcheon wrote.

“We are both so very blessed and grateful for our beautiful, nine-year-old son Rafferty, whose happiness and welfare have always been and will continue to be our number one priority.”

McCutcheon emphasized that both she and McManus cherish their roles as parents and look forward to co-parenting their son together for the rest of their lives.

“While this decision has evolved over a period of time, we are still finding our new way forward as a family and kindly ask for some privacy at this time… Especially for our little boy,” she added.

She affirmed that their love for Rafferty would “never waver or change” despite their separation. “We obviously want to protect him and help him feel as safe and secure as possible,” she continued.

The actor expressed gratitude towards her fans, thanking them in advance for their respect and support during this difficult time.

McCutcheon assured that she will always support McManus, even in his decision to separate. “I continue to send Jack all the love, luck, and happiness for the next chapter of his life,” she wrote. “Rafferty and I (as always) are rooting for you!”

In her concluding remarks, McCutcheon said, “Thank you all for the love and support, now and always… Martine.xx.”

Prior to this announcement, McCutcheon shared an Instagram reel reflecting on heartbreak, encouraging warmth and self-acceptance.

She conveyed, “I hope you know that your heart is enough. You’re smart enough, and funny and interesting enough.”

She continued, “Your smile is enough, your light is enough, and even the parts of you that struggle with it or try to hide—they’re enough too. And if you just want to sit for hours without saying a word, your presence is enough.”

Reassuring her followers, she added, “You don’t have to talk to fill the noise, you don’t have to say anything at all. Just stay true to yourself, offer who you are—not who you think the world wants you to be. Because I promise your heart is enough. You’re enough. You have nothing to prove.”
