When Marvel Studios announced its return to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con this year, fans’ expectations were justifiably high. Fresh off the theatrical debut of Deadpool & Wolverine, Marvel was poised to offer a tantalizing glimpse into the future of the MCU. And what a future it is.

Before diving into the jaw-dropping reveals from the panel’s climax, let’s review all the riveting news Marvel unveiled on Saturday night at Comic-Con.

After a slow year, Marvel has grand plans to release three movies in 2025. The first on the docket is Captain America: Brave New World. It’s already known that Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, would take on the role of Captain America. Notably, Harrison Ford as President Thaddeus Ross will transform into the Red Hulk, and Tim Blake Nelson will reprise his role as The Leader. Marvel further teased fans with new footage, indicating that the Celestial from Eternals is made of adamantium. A new addition to the cast, Giancarlo Esposito, will portray Sidewinder, King of the Serpent Society. Captain America: Brave New World is scheduled to premiere on February 14, 2025.

The next entry is Thunderbolts*. While not much new information was shared, Marvel provided some exciting footage. Fans saw Red Guardian (David Harbour) and Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) reuniting. Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) was shown in Avengers Tower, and audiences got their first look at Lewis Pullman as “Bob,” also known as Robert Reynolds or Sentry. Thunderbolts* is slated for release on May 2, 2025.

Marvel’s highly anticipated Fantastic Four movie now has an official title: The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Filming starts next week. Set in a retro-futuristic 1960s, the movie will feature a score by Michael Giacchino, known for his work on Doctor Strange and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Fans can look forward to seeing The Fantastic Four: First Steps in theaters on July 25, 2025.

Just when it seemed like the major announcements were over, Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige delivered a stunning revelation. The movie previously titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty has been renamed to Avengers: Doomsday. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film will feature the iconic Marvel villain Doctor Doom. The biggest surprise came with the announcement that Robert Downey Jr. will interpret Doctor Doom in both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Avengers: Doomsday is expected to hit theaters in May 2026.

The Russo brothers are also directing another major MCU installment, Avengers: Secret Wars. This will feature Downey Jr.’s Victor von Doom and serve as the conclusion to the Multiverse Saga. Avengers: Secret Wars is set for release in May 2027.
