Matthew Rhys Joins Claire Danes in Netflix’s Thriller ‘The Beast in Me’

Emmy winners Matthew Rhys and Claire Danes are set to star in the upcoming Netflix thriller The Beast in Me, according to Deadline. Rhys takes on the role of Nile Jarvis, a renowned real estate mogul who was once the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance.

The series centers on Danes’ character, celebrated author Aggie Wiggs. Following the tragic death of her son, Aggie retreats from public life. However, when Rhys’ character becomes her neighbor, she finds renewed inspiration. The plot thickens as Aggie becomes entangled in a cat-and-mouse game, pursuing Jarvis’ dark secrets while grappling with her own.

The show is helmed by Howard Gordon, who previously worked with Danes on Homeland. Gabe Rotter, known for The X-Files, serves as the writer and creator. Danes’ involvement in the project was announced earlier this year in March.

Rhys gained critical acclaim for playing Soviet spy Philip Jennings in FX’s Cold War drama The Americans, a role that earned him three Emmy nominations and a win in 2018. Recently, he portrayed the title character in HBO’s Perry Mason, which concluded last year after two seasons. His other notable TV credits include Brothers & Sisters and Girls.
