Max Stumbles in Bears’ Hard Knocks Episode 2 After Impressive Debut

After a spectacular debut, Max faced a significant hiccup with the release of the second episode of “Hard Knocks: Training Camp” featuring the Chicago Bears.

On August 13, scheduled for release that evening, fans experienced a delay. The episodes of “Hard Knocks” usually premiere at 9 pm ET on Tuesdays. But at 9:21 pm ET, Max announced the delay on X (formerly Twitter).

Unfortunately, the episode didn’t become available until over an hour later. At 10:27 pm ET, Max updated viewers, confirming that the episode was finally ready for streaming.

According to Peter Schrager, the series premiere focusing on the Chicago Bears broke records, becoming the highest-rated debut in five years.

With such a successful start, the demand for the second episode was understandably high. Thankfully, the episode is now accessible for eager fans on Max.

The Chicago Bears are featured this season in the training camp series of “Hard Knocks.” Previously, the series covered the New York Giants’ offseason activities.

This latest installment dives into the Bears’ preparation for the upcoming season. Five episodes will be aired from August 6 to September 3, 2024.

“Hard Knocks” has been a key project for NFL Films and HBO since 2001. Initially, it was a series focused on training camps and preseason activities. Over time, it has expanded to include various spin-offs.

The New York Giants’ offseason story was previously showcased, highlighting their preparation for the NFL Draft. Additionally, the Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins have been featured in mid-season series that document their regular seasons.

In 2024, “Hard Knocks” will adopt a fresh approach for their in-season series, shifting the focus to AFC North teams, including the Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Cleveland Browns.

As the 2024 season approaches, the Chicago Bears are rebuilding after a challenging year. They concluded last season with a 7-10 record, landing in fourth place in the NFC North.

During the offseason, the Bears made substantial changes to their roster. Notable free agency acquisitions include D’Andre Swift, Kevin Byard, and Gerald Everett. They also secured wide receiver Keenan Allen in a trade, adding an experienced player to their lineup.

In the 2024 NFL Draft, the Bears held both the first and ninth overall picks. They selected highly-regarded USC quarterback Caleb Williams first, followed by wide receiver Rome Odunze.

The Bears have already participated in two preseason games due to their involvement in the Hall of Fame game. They triumphed over the Houston Texans 21-17 in the first game and secured a dominant 33-6 win against the Buffalo Bills in the second.

In the second preseason game, Caleb Williams made his NFL debut. He led two scoring drives, resulting in field goals, and completed four out of seven passes for a total of 95 yards. This promising performance could provide momentum as he heads into the regular season.

The Bears will kick off their regular season with a home game against the Tennessee Titans. Their first division rivalry match will be in Week 11 against the Green Bay Packers.
