Meet Brisket, the Dog Glen Powell Adopted After His Breakup

‘Twisters’ is one of the most eagerly awaited movies of the summer, boasting a star-studded cast and a gripping storyline. However, amidst the filming and press tour, an unexpected star has captured everyone’s attention—and it’s not an actor.

Brisket, Glen Powell’s charming dog, has been a part of the cast since day one. Spending time with the pup in Oklahoma, Brisket quickly became a vital part of the team, even joining Powell during interviews as the actor takes his furry friend everywhere.

In a recent chat with EW, Glen Powell revealed the deep bond he shares with Brisket. “I was going through a breakup at the time and was in the middle of Enid, Oklahoma, and I had always wanted a dog,” Powell said. Referencing his split from model Gigi Paris, he added, “It was something I thought about a lot.”

“Somewhere in this coffee shop in Enid, I just had the desire to be a father,” he continued. “Everybody knew how excited I was.” Powell shared how he took a flight to Los Angeles to adopt Brisket while filming in Oklahoma, eager to bring his new companion home.

“I was like, ‘Guys, I’m going to pick him up!'” he told the crew. “I felt like a new father, where I wasn’t sleeping while shooting this movie. But Brisket would just hang out with every department head, and he would sit in my chair and just sleep.”

“I had the most adorable picture of Brisket in my Twisters chair at the rodeo. He really became a set mascot in that movie. It’s just adorable,” Powell added. “Sets can be very lonely places,” he admitted.

Powell shared that Brisket’s presence brought the cast closer together. “It’s interesting when you see a dog filling you up with love, how it brings a cast together even more. There’s something wonderful about animals; they can break down our walls a bit and expedite friendships.” Powell concluded, “Brisket has been amazing. I consider him the best special feature of Twisters.”
