Meg Ryan Enjoys Rare Shopping Outing with Daughter Daisy, 20

Meg Ryan was seen enjoying a shopping trip with her 20-year-old daughter, Daisy, in New York City on a relaxed Wednesday outing.

The “You’ve Got Mail” actress and her daughter were spotted exploring the Soho neighborhood, starting with a visit to McNally Jackson Bookstore. They later headed to Tribeca for some clothes shopping. Both mother and daughter appeared to be in content spirits, dressed casually for their day out in the city.

Ryan, 62, kept her look effortlessly chic, sporting a plain white long-sleeved top paired with black cargo pants. She completed her outfit with black sneakers and a matching crossbody bag. Daisy, on the other hand, wore a butterfly-printed button-up top tucked into blue jeans secured with a black belt. She complimented her look with white sneakers and a few bracelets.

Ryan adopted Daisy from China in 2006 when Daisy was about 2 years old. Reflecting on their relationship, Ryan once shared with Glamour in December 2023, “I’m convinced of magic because of our relationship. We were destined.” The actress holds their mother-daughter bond in high regard.

Additionally, Ryan shares a 32-year-old son, Jack, with her ex-husband, actor Dennis Quaid. She and Quaid, 70, were married for a decade before they split in 2001. Ryan fondly spoke about her children in the same interview, “My kids have always been a blast. They’re the best hang. They’re so alive in their curiosity and interest in the world.”

Ryan is clearly a proud mother, having described Daisy and Jack as “two of the greatest kids” while speaking to People magazine in October 2023. Jack, following in his parents’ footsteps, has pursued a career in acting. He has appeared in well-known productions, including 2012’s “The Hunger Games” and 2023’s “Oppenheimer.” Jack also stars as vigilante Hughie Campbell in the Prime Video series “The Boys.”

Currently an undergraduate student, it remains to be seen whether Daisy will follow a similar path into acting.

Their recent outing came after Ryan made a rare appearance on the red carpet at the Sarajevo Film Festival in Europe last week. There, she was honored with the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo award for her notable contributions to the film industry. During her acceptance speech, which she shared in part on Instagram, Ryan expressed her gratitude, saying, “I just feel so happy to be able to be here and thank you face to face for your example during the siege.”

This statement referred to the Siege of Sarajevo during the Bosnian War, a poignant moment as the film festival was established in 1995 amid the conflict. Ryan further added, “I mean, you proved that art and culture are the resistance. You are proof that diversity is power. That art is whatever makes you feel less alone.”

Ryan’s illustrious career and her evidently strong family bonds have kept her in the spotlight, showing that despite the years, her charm and impact remain as potent as ever.
