Megalopolis Trailer: Francis Ford Coppola’s Roman Epic with Adam Driver

A new trailer for Megalopolis has been released, offering a glimpse into the Roman Epic directed and written by Francis Ford Coppola. Acquired by Lionsgate Studios in June 2024, the movie is set to hit theaters in the United States this September.

Megalopolis is a Roman Epic set in an imagined modern America, according to the official synopsis. The City of New Rome is on the brink of change, with conflict arising between Cesar Catilina, a genius artist striving for a utopian future, and Mayor Franklyn Cicero, who clings to a regressive status quo filled with greed, special interests, and partisan warfare. The Mayor’s daughter, socialite Julia Cicero, is caught in the middle as her love for Cesar forces her to reevaluate her loyalties and beliefs about humanity’s future.

The film features a star-studded cast, including Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Kathryn Hunter, and Dustin Hoffman.

Francis Ford Coppola produces the film along with Barry Hirsch, Fred Roos, and Michael Bederman. Renowned for his work in the Godfather trilogy, Apocalypse Now (1979), and Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992), Coppola invested around $120 million of his own money to fund this ambitious project. The film premiered at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in May 2024.

Megalopolis will be released in United States theaters on September 27, 2024, by Lionsgate Studios.
