Megan Fox Admits Infidelity During Marriage To Brian Austin Green

Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox’s relationship began when she was 18 and he was 30. Speaking to The New York Times in 2009, the “Transformers” star noted that their 13-year age gap didn’t affect her much because she felt an instant connection to Green when he accidentally brushed against her leg while filming “Hope and Faith” in 2004. Engaged in 2008, the couple separated the following year, reconciled in 2010, and married shortly after, welcoming two children. However, by August 2015, People reported they had essentially separated and were heading for divorce. Fox filed for divorce later that month, yet their relationship continued afterward.

The couple reunited and welcomed their third child in 2016 before officially calling it quits in 2020. Reflecting on their tumultuous marriage during a 2024 episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Fox expressed conflicting feelings. While she believed they were destined to have three children, she admitted Green ultimately didn’t meet her needs. Without blatantly admitting to cheating, Fox revealed she “did a lot of, like, falling in love with other people all the time,” reasoning that she was young and impressionable.

Megan Fox disclosed during her “Call Her Daddy” appearance that she often blamed Brian Austin Green for their marital problems. However, post-divorce reflections made her realize she wasn’t entirely blameless. Fox acknowledged she was too young for such a serious commitment when they met and implied their marriage might have failed because she was subconsciously emulating her mother’s marital role.

The List consulted Susan Trombetti, matchmaker and CEO of Exclusive Matchmaking, for insights. Trombetti suggested that Fox and Green’s 13-year age difference was significant, especially since Fox was very young when they met, potentially working against them in the long run. The expert explained that young individuals often think they know what they want but lack the requisite life experiences. Trombetti also agreed that Fox might have repeated childhood patterns observed in her mother, staying in an unhappy relationship because of learned behaviors.

During her interview, Fox also mentioned wanting to enjoy herself after her divorce from Green, a wish she couldn’t fulfill because of her rapid relationship with Machine Gun Kelly, which began weeks after their split. Matchmaker Susan Trombetti suggested it wasn’t the best choice for Fox to move on so quickly. Trombetti noted that remaining single for a while would have allowed Fox to reflect on her failed marriage and prepare for future relationships. Despite red flags in her relationship with MGK, the couple got engaged in 2022.

While Fox had mixed feelings about her marriage to Green, he viewed things differently. During a 2020 Instagram Live, Green stated, “We had an amazing 15-year relationship,” as reported by People. He wasn’t entirely opposed to reconciling with Fox in the future, saying, “I never say never.” Green elaborated, “I kinda feel like people are on paths in life and sometimes your paths are together and you travel that path together and you see eye to eye and then sometimes paths do different things.”
