Megan Fox Admits to Infidelity During Marriage to Brian Austin Green

Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox’s relationship began when she was 18 and he was 30. In a 2009 interview with The New York Times, the “Transformers” star mentioned that their 13-year age gap didn’t bother her much because she felt an instant connection to Green during the filming of “Hope and Faith” in 2004. They got engaged in 2008 but separated the following year. However, they reconciled in 2010, married soon after, and had two children. People reported in August 2015 that they had separated and were heading for divorce. Fox filed for divorce later that month, but their relationship wasn’t over yet.

The couple reunited and welcomed their third child in 2016 before permanently splitting in 2020. During a 2024 episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Fox shared her mixed feelings about their tumultuous marriage. The “Jennifer’s Body” star felt destined to have three kids with Green but admitted that he ultimately didn’t meet her needs. While not confessing to outright cheating, Fox revealed she often “fell in love with other people” while working, attributing this to her youth.

Megan Fox acknowledged she got married too young

On “Call Her Daddy,” Fox admitted she often blamed Green for everything wrong in their marriage. However, post-divorce reflections made her realize she wasn’t entirely blameless. Fox suggested that she was too young for such a serious commitment when they met and subconsciously tried to emulate her mother by staying in an unhappy relationship.

Matchmaker Susan Trombetti shared her insights with The List on Fox’s declarations. Trombetti suggested that the significant age difference and Fox’s young age likely exacerbated their issues. “People who get married young think they know what they want, but they haven’t had an array of life experiences,” Trombetti explained. She also agreed that Fox might have been following her mother’s example by staying in an unhappy relationship, remarking that it’s common for people to repeat childhood patterns observed in role models.

Brian Austin Green feels differently about their marriage

During her “Call Her Daddy” interview, Fox disclosed that she wanted to enjoy life after her divorce from Green to compensate for the fun she missed out on by settling down so early. However, she never got the chance because her relationship with Machine Gun Kelly started just weeks after her split with Green. Matchmaker Trombetti suggested that moving on so quickly wasn’t ideal. Trombetti believed Fox should have stayed single longer to reflect on her long-term relationship with Green to ensure future success in relationships.

Despite Fox’s mixed feelings about her marriage, Green held a different perspective. In a 2020 Instagram Live session, Green stated, “We had an amazing 15-year relationship,” as reported by People. He wasn’t entirely opposed to reconciling with Fox in the future, hinting, “I never say never.” Green further reflected, “People are on paths in life, and sometimes your paths are together, and sometimes they do different things.”
