Megan Thee Stallion Teases ‘Neva Play’ Collaboration with BTS’ RM

Megan Thee Stallion and RM are set to release a new track titled “Neva Play”. The Houston rapper made the announcement on Sunday, teasing the single which is scheduled to be released on September 6.

“NEVA PLAY WITH RM OUT FRIDAY HOTTIES X ARMY,” Megan shared on Instagram, using the hashtag #MEGJOON along with the cover art for the song. The cover art features a drawing of Megan with blue hair holding fanned-out cash, while RM looks over his shoulder in the background.

In her caption, Megan added, “ps. This is one of my favorite RM verses I’ve heard! I’ve never heard him rap in this style before.” BTS’s official account also shared the cover art with details about the song’s release timing: “Sep 6, 1PM (KST) | 0AM (ET).”

Both artists had been hinting at this collaboration. Last week, Megan tweeted a series of emojis, including a stallion horse and a purple heart, which fans quickly interpreted as a nod to BTS. The speculation was confirmed when BTS retweeted Megan’s post with “Coming Soon!”

This isn’t the first time Megan and BTS have teamed up. In the summer of 2021, they collaborated on a remix of BTS’s hit song “Butter”. Megan also joined BTS in Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium to perform the remix live for the first time.

Megan Thee Stallion, who released her third studio album, Megan on June 28, is also preparing to host the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on September 11. She has been nominated for five awards, including Best Collaboration for “Wanna Be” with GloRilla and Best Hip-Hop for “BOA.”

Meanwhile, BTS is on a hiatus from full band activities until 2025 as its members fulfill their mandatory military service in South Korea. Despite the hiatus, the individuals are busy with various projects. Most recently, Jimin released his solo album Muse in July, and he joined Jung Kook for the travel series Are You Sure?! which debuted on Disney+ last month. Additionally, Jin participated as a torchbearer during the Paris Summer Olympics in July.
