Megan Thee Stallion announced today (September 3) that not only will she be hosting the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), but she will also be performing. She shared this exciting news on social media, exclaiming, “Hotties not Onlyyyy am I your lovely host for the evening at the 2024 @vmas IM ALSOOO PERFORMINGGGG.”

The announcement arrives just days after Megan teased a new collaborative single with BTS member RM, set to release soon. She expressed her admiration for RM’s contribution, saying, “This is one of my favorite RM verses I’ve heard. I’ve never heard him rap in this style before.” Many are speculating that this new single might be part of her VMAs performance. Megan’s recently released surreal music video for “Mamushi” is also considered a strong contender to be featured in her performance set.

Megan Thee Stallion has secured nominations in five VMAs categories: Best Collaboration for “Wanna Be” with GloRilla, and Best Hip Hop, Best Visual Effects, Best Direction, and Best Art Direction for her hit “Boa.” She follows close behind nominations leader Taylor Swift, who has 10 nods, and other top nominees like Post Malone with nine, and Sabrina Carpenter, Eminem, and Ariana Grande, each with six nominations.

The 2024 VMAs will showcase an impressive lineup of performers including Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Camila Cabello, GloRilla, Rauw Alejandro, Lisa, Halsey, Benson Boone, Lenny Kravitz, and Katy Perry, who will also be honored with the prestigious Video Vanguard Award.

Fans can catch the 2024 VMAs airing live on MTV on September 11 at 8 p.m. ET.
