Megan Thee Stallion’s Medley of Hits at the 2024 BET Awards

Megan Thee Stallion set the stage ablaze at the 2024 BET Awards on Sunday, making a striking entrance as she emerged from a giant egg. Sporting a dazzling blue-and-green bodysuit paired with high-heeled boots, she captivated the audience from the get-go.

Accompanied by a troupe of dancers, Megan delivered a medley of her hit songs, including “Hiss,” “Boa,” and “Where Them Girls At.” Her high-energy, twerk-heavy performance concluded with her exuding confidence, leaving the crowd exhilarated and ready for the night ahead.

In addition to her show-stopping performance, Megan is also up for four awards, including Best Female Hip-Hop Artist and Best Collaboration and Video of the Year for “Bongos” with Cardi B. This isn’t her first memorable appearance at the BET Awards; she last performed in 2021 with an electrifying rendition of “Thot Shit” from her mixtape “Something for Thee Hotties.”

Adding to the excitement, Megan released her self-titled third studio album, “Megan,” on Friday. The album includes her previously released snake trilogy singles, “Hiss,” “Boa,” and “Cobra.”

“Rolling Stone” praised Megan’s new album, describing it as ideal for a Hot Girl Summer, focused on self-love, dismissing negativity, and living life fully. The publication noted that Megan delves deeper into her Southern roots and sexuality, solidifying her status as a leading figure in the rap industry. This new project shows a progression from her experimental debut, “Good News,” and the darker tones of its follow-up, “Traumazine.”

“Megan” is significant as it marks her first album released as an independent artist, following her split from 1501 Certified and 300 Entertainment. The album release and the stirring BET Awards performance coincide with her Hot Girl Summer tour. This headlining tour sees the rapper performing at various arenas across North America and Europe.

Reflecting on her new music, Megan recently said in an interview with “L’Officiel” that she’s exploring new sounds without straying too far from what makes her distinct. “This is music I would like if I wasn’t Megan Thee Stallion,” she said, emphasizing that the new album remains true to her style while incorporating fresh elements. She added, “You’ll almost be like, ‘I wouldn’t have thought she would’ve rapped over that, but this sounds great.’”
