Meghan Markle Shares Heartwarming Update on Daughter Lilibet

Meghan Markle recently shared rare details about her life at home with her three-year-old daughter, Lilibet. During her remarks at the Afro Women and Power event on August 18, the Duchess of Sussex revealed that Lilibet has “absolutely found her voice” to speak up for important issues. This event took place while Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, were on a trip to Colombia.

“I find inspiration in the strong women around me, of course my mother being one of them,” Meghan said, referencing her mother, Doria Ragland. She added, “So much of how I approach things is less about the fight and more about how do we show up in a space and wash things over with love and kindness and generosity?”

Meghan, who also has a five-year-old son named Archie, emphasized the importance of using one’s voice. “I know how it feels when you don’t utilize your voice when you need to be heard or have something to say. I encourage our daughter to do so – who at 3 has absolutely found her voice, and we are so proud of that,” she continued.

The former Suits star explained that the Archewell Foundation, which she and Prince Harry founded in 2020, aims to help women and children feel heard. “I’m very, very fortunate at a young age I was able to feel as though my voice was being heard, and that’s a luxury that a lot of young girls and women aren’t often afforded,” Meghan stated.

She elaborated on their mission, saying, “For us and the work we do with Archewell and the work we do as parents is ensuring that young girls feel that their voices are heard and young boys are raised to learn how to listen to girls as well. The role of men in this is crucial, and my husband is an example of this.”

Meghan praised Harry for being “a great testament to the role of men in empowering women, of allowing them to know that their voices are heard.” She emphasized the importance of starting this empowerment from a young age and continuing it into adulthood.

Meghan and Harry have typically kept their children out of the public eye. However, earlier this month, the couple shared that their children inspired the Parent Network within the Archewell Foundation. This initiative supports adults whose children have been affected by social media.

“Our kids are young,” Meghan said during an interview with Jane Pauley for CBS Sunday Morning earlier this month. “They’re amazing. But all you want to do as parents is protect them. As we can see what’s happening in the online space, we know that there’s a lot of work to be done there and we’re just happy to be a part of change for good.”

The Archewell Foundation continues to work towards creating a better, more inclusive world. Meghan and Harry’s continuous efforts show their dedication to empowering the next generation to use their voices and make a positive impact.
