Meghan Markle’s Chic Business Casual: Backless Vest & Slouchy Pants

Duchess Meghan brought her cool California style to the other side of the country.

The Duchess of Sussex was among an exceptional group of women attending the G9 Ventures Summer Summit in the Hamptons last week. Other guests included Naomi Watts, Reese Witherspoon, and Julianne Hough.

As Meghan prepares to add the mantle of “business owner” to her résumé with the anticipated launch of American Riviera Orchard, she is also making sure to dress the part.

In photos shared to friend Bobbi Brown’s Instagram, the duchess wore a relaxed but sophisticated take on the business-casual dress code, opting for an oatmeal linen set from St. Agni (which just so happens to be on sale right now). It consisted of a structured waistcoat with a slim collared halter neckline and a backless silhouette, as well as a pair of slouchy wide-leg pants with a modern overlapping waist detail.

Meghan capped off the look with large black sunglasses from Heidi Merrick, then accessorized with some of her go-to luxury pieces, including her Cartier Tank watch, Juste un Clou collar necklace, and Love bracelet.

Meghan’s appearance at the Long Island, New York business summit comes a few months after she teased the launch of American Riviera Orchard, a lifestyle brand that will reportedly offer an array of products, ranging from home goods and housewares to food and fragrances.

A friend of the duchess previously told Harper’s Bazaar royal editor at-large Omid Scobie that Meghan’s brand would be “more accessible” than other famed celebrity brands, like Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop. “Something rooted in her love of details, curating, hosting, life’s simple pleasures, and family,” the friend explained. “Meghan is busy working on creating something safe and timeless. And something that won’t be accused of riding on the back of anything royal.”
