The Duchess of Sussex delighted royal fans with her rare public appearance at the ESPY awards on Thursday evening. Meghan Markle looked simply stunning in a white halterneck gown as she accompanied her husband, Prince Harry. The event recognized Prince Harry for founding the Invictus Games with the Pat Tillman Award, named after the former NFL player and US Army Ranger Pat Tillman, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2004.
Meghan’s gown, designed by Oscar de la Renta, was custom-made for the former Suits star. The silk white dress featured delicate embroidery, and Meghan accessorized impeccably with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and contrasting black Celine shoes. Her famous hair was tied back in a bun, and her glowing skin completed the look. The mother-of-two appeared more radiant than ever.
Many observers couldn’t help but draw parallels between Meghan’s ESPY attire and her second wedding dress by Stella McCartney.
On Instagram, one user commented, “She looks good; she could as well repeat her wedding reception dress with this look.” Another noted, “Definitely giving vibes from her wedding reception dress! Love it!” A third user remarked, “Reminds me of her wedding evening dress. She looks fab.”
In 2018, the world went wild for Meghan’s bridal look. It was modern, sleek, and timeless. She added Princess Diana’s sapphire cocktail ring as her main accessory, marking the look as one of her most iconic.
British designer Stella McCartney was particularly proud of her collaboration with the Duchess of Sussex for that historic dress. Reflecting on the experience, she shared, “I am so proud and honoured to have been chosen by the Duchess of Sussex to make her evening gown and represent British design. It has truly been one of the most humbling moments of my career.”
