Melania Trump’s Upcoming Memoir Promises an Intimate Portrait of Her Life

Melania Trump has a memoir coming out this fall, described by her office as “a powerful and inspiring story of a woman who has carved her own path, overcome adversity and defined personal excellence.”

The memoir, titled Melania, is the first book by the former first lady and will be released by Skyhorse Publishing. This company has a history of publishing works from allies of former President Donald Trump, including former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and lawyer Alan Dershowitz.

Skyhorse Publishing has also collaborated with independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Michael Cohen, a former Trump fixer-turned-critic. The firm has released several books with forewords by Steve Bannon, former Trump White House Chief Strategist, who recently surrendered to serve a four-month sentence on contempt charges related to the January 6 Capitol riot investigation.

Melania Trump’s office announced her forthcoming book on Thursday but did not reveal a release date or confirm if it will be published before the November election. Though Melania has not penned a memoir before, she has been the subject of other books, such as one written by former adviser Stephanie Winston Wolkoff.

The announcement promises that Melania Trump will “invite readers into her world, offering an intimate portrait of a woman who has lived an extraordinary life.” The book will include personal stories and family photos that have never been shared with the public before.

No details regarding the financial arrangements, promotional plans, or whether she collaborated with a co-author were provided in the release.

The former first lady, who is the third wife of Donald Trump, has always worked to maintain her privacy, even during her tenure as first lady. During that period, she focused on raising their son Barron and her “Be Best” initiative, which aimed to support the social, emotional, and physical well-being of children.

Melania appeared alongside her husband at the launch of his 2024 campaign and the recent Republican National Convention. However, unlike in 2016 and 2020, she opted not to deliver a speech during these events.

Her office revealed that the book will be available in two versions. The Collector’s Edition, costing $150, will feature 256 pages in full color and will be signed by Melania Trump. The Memoir Edition, priced at $40, will include 304 pages with 48 pages of previously unseen photos, and signed copies of this edition will sell for $75. Interested readers can pre-order through the former first lady’s personal website.

It is notable that former first couples typically release books with mainstream New York publishers. However, the Trumps have taken a different route. Though Donald Trump previously published several books through Simon & Schuster and Random House before his presidency, many publishers have declined to work with him following the Capitol riot.

Since his presidency, Donald Trump has released two books—a photo book from his time in office and a collection of letters from celebrities and world leaders. Both were published by Winning Team Publishing, a firm founded in 2021 by Donald Trump Jr. and former Trump campaign staffer Sergio Gor.
