Melissa McCarthy Unrecognizable with Blonde Hair in New Transformation Photo

Melissa McCarthy turned 54 at the end of August, and the photo her husband Ben Falcone chose to celebrate the occasion certainly got fans talking.

Falcone took to Instagram on August 26 to post a headshot of the star rocking a volume-heavy blond ‘do, complete with straight bangs and a generous amount of hairspray.

In his caption, he humorously wrote: “Happy Birthday to my precious Mooch! What most people don’t know is that this is her real hair. She spends a fortune in wig caps. Love you, hope you have the best day!”

Fans quickly chimed in on the post. One wrote: “She needs to be on Grand Ole Opry ASAP!”—making reference to her Dolly Parton-esque hairdo—while another commented: “She looks amazing!” A third added: “This made my day.”

Interestingly, Ben celebrated his birthday the day before Melissa’s. She shared a playful video of him wishing himself a happy birthday, donning ‘Happy Birthday’ sunglasses and a headband decorated with candles while sitting in their living room.

Meanwhile, Melissa was overjoyed with a personalized birthday cake on her special day. She shared a photo on Instagram Stories displaying the creation by popular CA bakery Crumbles Patisserie, adorned with pictures of her throughout the years.

The couple likely celebrated their birthdays with their daughters, Vivian, 16, and Georgette, 14, who are mostly kept out of the public eye. Melissa has previously opened up about the challenges and delights of parenting teenagers.

She revealed that her daughters affectionately call her “Midway Mom” when she’s in a particularly fun mood. This special nickname originated from a visit to Midway Airport in Chicago, where Melissa acquiesced to every one of her daughters’ requests.

“We were coming back from visiting my parents, and we went through the Midway Airport in Chicago. For some reason, everything they asked for, I said, ‘Sure, get it. Two of them. You want a Coke?’ And they were just like, ‘What’s going on?’ ‘Can we have Doritos?’ ‘Yep.’ Anything they said. ‘Can we get sweatshirts?’ ‘You sure can,'” Melissa recalled.

Melissa and Ben enjoy their time with their teenagers at home. However, the actress admitted that she dreads the thought of them leaving for college. When one of her daughters mentioned the possibility of studying in Scotland, Melissa playfully responded by contemplating renting an apartment there.

“Nope, because it’s never going to happen,” she told the publication when asked how she felt about her daughters eventually moving away. “One of my daughters was talking about maybe going to school in Scotland. And literally, Ben’s like, ‘Your lip’s twitching.'”

Melissa shared, “She did walk past me the next day and said, ‘Mama, no. You’re looking up apartments in Scotland.’ And I was like, ‘I can get an apartment in Scotland. You can’t legally stop me.'”

The couple appears to share a warm and humorous relationship, as reflected in their social media posts and interviews. Whether it’s celebrating birthdays or joking about their children’s future plans, Melissa and Ben show a deep bond and love for their family.
