Mia Farrow Shares Insight on Actors Working with Woody Allen

Mia Farrow, who has long alleged that her ex-partner Woody Allen sexually molested their adopted daughter Dylan, expressed her understanding of actors who choose to work with the director.

During an interview on “CBS Sunday Morning,” Farrow was asked whether she could separate the 13 films she made with Allen from the “personal trials and tribulations” that followed. The “Purple Rose of Cairo” star responded, “Oh yeah. I completely understand if an actor decides to work with him. I’m not one who’d say, ‘Oh, they shouldn’t.’”

Several actors have disavowed the prolific “Annie Hall” Oscar winner or pledged not to work with him again. This includes Michael Caine, Timothée Chalamet, Mira Sorvino, Colin Firth, Rebecca Hall, and Greta Gerwig. However, some entertainment figures, like Oscar winner Javier Bardem, have expressed support for Allen, suggesting that the embattled filmmaker has been publicly lynched. Bardem indicated that he wouldn’t hesitate to join another Allen film.

Woody Allen has consistently denied the abuse claim, and no charges were filed after a police investigation. Dylan Farrow shared the alleged incident with her mother in August 1992, and days later, Farrow filed for custody of Dylan and two other children they shared. In 1997, Allen married Soon-Yi Previn, Farrow’s adopted daughter.

At the Venice Film Festival last year, Allen reiterated his willingness to meet with Dylan, while once again denying any merit to her accusations. “There was nothing to it,” he told Variety. “The fact that it lingers on always makes me think that maybe people like the idea that it lingers on. You know, maybe there’s something appealing to people. But why? Why? I don’t know what you can do besides having it investigated, which they did so meticulously.”

At 88 years old, Woody Allen suggested that “Coup de Chance,” which premiered at last year’s Venice festival, might be his final film. According to IMDB, he currently has no full-length movie projects in the works.
